Why is CBC here?

Corydon Baptist Church exists to be Consumed by the Glory of God in the Gospel of Christ. Or, in short, we are “Consumed by Christ.”┬áIt is why we have been placed in Corydon, Indiana by our Great God and Savior!

Psalm 8:1; 29:1-2; 79:9; Isaiah 42:8; Ephesians 2:1-10; Colossians 1:18; Jude 25; Revelation 5:12-13.

Our mission is to be a Christian Family of Disciple-Making Disciples. This is what we are called, commanded, and enabled to do by our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. While we may be involved in other good things in our community and world, we try by God’s grace to focus our time and energy on living out the Great Commission given to us by King Jesus.

Matthew 28:16-20; Luke 24:46-48; Acts 1:8

Here at CBC, we like to summarize how we live out our purpose and mission with these four words:

  • Worship - we commit ourselves to regularly and consistently gathering to worship.
  • Disciple - we commit ourselves to being discipled and to making disciples.
  • Serve - we commit ourselves to serve Christ, one another and our community using our spiritual gifts, skills, time and talents.
  • Live - we commit ourselves to a life of pursuing holiness by grace and a life of gospel witnessing in word and deed.

These four words - Worship, Disciple, Serve, Live - capture the essence of our Church Covenant and propel us into the future with a vision for Gospel-Driven, Christ-Exalting, Loving ministry.
